FUND LIFE SAVING CARE FOR DISPLACED PREGNANT WOMEN CURRENTLY LIVING AT KANYARUCHINYA IDP CAMP IN NORTH KIVU, DRC

Due to the current security and humanitarian crisis affecting three territories of North Kivu, in Democratic Republic of Congo, the humanitarian community estimates that approximately 530,000 have fled their villages in Rutshuru, Nyiragongo and Masisi territories and have lived in churches, schools, stadiums and in improvised sites and where they are in extremely need of assistance (https://news.un.org/fr/story/2022/12/1130872). Among these displaced people, there are at least 1,051 pregnant women as identified by Blessed Aid team at Kanyaruchinya and Kibati in Nyiragongo territory.
Given the situation that our mothers (pregnant women) are going through in the internally displaced persons’ camp; especially since they risk too much in the health field (serious infections, abortion, maternal and / or infant death); and since Blessed Aid fights against violence and pain of women; whereas if we are silent, no one will intervene on saving life of these poor women. This is why we are calling people from various countries to DONATE for 300 pregnant women among those identified by Blessed Aid.
Three hundred (300) identified pregnant women will be selected and will benefit from all the activities offered by Blessed Aid team through the Donations collected. During the sensitizations, they will be divided into different groups and each group will have a very appropriate framework to be made aware of the risks of insalubrity and hygiene rules during the crisis period. During the distribution, only the selected women will have access to the place planned for this activity to avoid congestion.
The collected Donations will help buy:
1. Food: Rice, beans, vegetable oil, cooking salt.
2. Non-food items: Loincloth, toilet soap and shower basin.
Each selected pregnant women will receive a complete kit including 25 kgs of rice, 3 liters of vegetable oil, 20 kgs of beans and 5 sachets of cooking salt for food and 1 loincloth, 2 bars of soap and a shower basin for non-food. They will also each receive an amount of 50 USD for their post-maternity support, apart from psychosocial support from which they will benefit for six months.

The amount needed for this emergency project is :
